The Eye Surgery is a Consultant Eye Surgeon's practice located in the South East with the main clinics based in Waterford and Kilkenny. The practice was established by Mr James O'Reilly in 2003 and later joined by Mr Tom Stumpf in 2007. Both Consultant Eye Surgeons a fully trained and registered with the Irish Medical Council Register of Medical Specialist as Ophthalmic Surgeons
We specialise in all forms of eye surgery including cataract surgery and laser eye surgery. Cataracts are very common and they can be readily treated with surgery to restore vision. Modern cataract surgery is done as a day case procedure using local anaesthetic drops, ultrasound technology (Phakoemulsification) and does not need any stitches. Laser eye surgery can be used for vision correction that will help people to see clearly without the need for glasses as well as the treatment of a number of eye diseases, such as glaucoma and diabetes.
